A Board of Trustees is an appointed group of individuals that has overall responsibility for the management of an organisation. The Board of Trustees is the governing body of an organisation and seeks to ensure the best interest of stakeholders in all types of management decisions.
A Trustee's role in a charity is to be the 'guardians of purpose', making sure that all decisions put the needs of the beneficiaries first. They safeguard the assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. The Consortium Trust has appointed a robust Board of Trustees, with the requisite skills, knowledge and integrity to provide the strategic challenge and direction of the Trust at every level.

The role of a Locality Committee (LC) is an important one. It is to provide focused governance at a local level and it is the intention of The Trust that LCs will have the highest level of autonomy appropriate to their Academy School. The LC monitors the Academy’s development plan and key performance indicators. It acts as a critical friend to the Academy Head and Senior Leadership Team, offering challenge and support.
The LC carries out its duties on behalf of the Board of Trustees in accordance with policies determined by the Trust Board. The act of delegation from the Trust Board to LCs is a delegation of powers and duties and not a delegation of responsibilities. The LC will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and will implement any advice or recommendations made.
Please find the following information relating to our school's Locality Committee:

I am the parent of a child at Mendham Primary School and have recently joined the Locality Committee as a member of the Pupil Experience Team. I am excited to learn more about the running of the school and have the chance to be involved.
I have been a Clinical Psychologist (or a ‘feelings doctor’ as my daughter says!) for 17 years and spent lots of time working with children, young people and their families. I am an active member of my church and I also enjoy attending activities at Mendham Church. In my spare time I like reading, being in the countryside and spending time with family and friends.
I love working with children and I hope that I can use my experience to help the Locality Committee and school work together to enable all the pupils to flourish.
Rachel can be contacted via email on r.chettleburgh@consortiumtrust.org.uk or through the school office.
With my daughter halfway through her time at Mendham, I thought it was time to give something back.
As an educational supplier for over 20 years, and latterly as a company director, I wanted to be able to use my skillset to help positively enhance the learning environment and to help out in some small way.
Up until recently, I have been actively involved in Bungay Tennis Club, but a long-term injury has forced me to reconsider, so freeing up some spare time for me to get involved in helping to raise the school's already upward trajectory.

Susan Wallis has been supporting the school as a parent helper for many years whose Grandson attended Mendham primary.
As an Ex teacher, she has many years in education.
