Thank you for visiting our website. We hope the information available here will be useful to existing parents and carers, and to those who are looking to bring their children to St Edmunds Primary School and Nursery.

During our D.T. Lessons this half term, Beech Class are trying to answer the big question - How does packaging influence what we buy? Today we looked at cereal packaging. We started by dismantling the packaging to return the box to its original net design, then investigated and recorded what features were on each side. Finally, we finished the lesson by cutting out and assembling different net designs.

Update from Mrs Allmey: A great first day. The children tackled climbing and a challenging obstacle course. The day ended with a delicious dinner before the children settled down to their first sleep in the tents. The children went to sleep surprisingly quick and woke early in the morning to catch a beautiful sunrise with even a rainbow on the horizon. This morning two groups of children enjoyed abseiling (it was very high!). Followed by problem solving another group took part in archery and trapeze. Mrs Allmey has her fingers crossed for an early night tonight!

There are only a few days left until our athlete visit on Friday. That means we don't have long to boost our sponsorship money! Please give as much as you can. The more we raise, the more the school can spend on resources and equipment for all things sporty! The more your child can raise, the better rewards they receive on the day. The children are up and ready to go for their 2nd day at Bawdsey. Have a great day Rowan!

First day fun at Bawdsey!

Every Day Matters! Regular attendance is one of the biggest factors in helping children succeed at school. Every lesson builds on previous learning, and being in school every day helps children develop confidence, friendships, resilience and a love of learning. Did you know? 95% attendance means around 10 days of learning missed each year. 90% attendance means nearly 4 weeks of learning missed across the school year. We understand that children will sometimes need time off when they are genuinely unwell, but wherever possible, we encourage families to prioritise attendance and punctuality. Thank you for your continued support in helping every child make the most of every school day. Every day counts. Every lesson matters. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Today we were joined by Lindsey from Diss Swim Centre who came to speak to the whole school about the importance of water safety. The children learnt more about where it is or is not safe to swim and the importance of learning both to swim but to also get out of water safely. Who to call in an emergency and keeping together. https://www.rlss.org.uk/.../Cate.../water-safety-information #RLSSUK

some exciting sports events happening this term. Please keep a look out for letters for your child to take part

Pupils from across the Consortium Trust met at Southwold Primary school yesterday, led by Sam Norfolk (Science Lead), to celebrate the final of the 'Gears. levers and pulleys' physics competition. It showcased some of the most talented and enthusiastic physics students from across the trust, and their shared passion for scientific discovery. The finalists were chosen from each school with Arthur's entry being picked for St Edmunds. Mrs Thomas (Director of Primary Education) judged the final which was a difficult decision! Congratulations to the winner of the competition, Charlie from Winterton Primary school. Everyone who entered should be extremely proud of their efforts and contribution
