Beech Class - Dunwich Trip Sep 23
Beech class thoroughly enjoyed their educational visit to Duniwch on Friday. We started our visit at Dunwich museum where we saw a map of Dunwich now and Dunwich 800 years ago. The children enjoyed participating in the discussion about what had happened to Dunwich and finding out the real reason Dunwich was a lot smaller than it used to be. The children then had to explore the museum and get hands on with medieval keys, cones and bricks that had fallen into the sea when the coastline was eroded. After our time in the museum we met Sister Luke who gave us costumes and hats to wear to help us feel like medieval people of Dunwich and took a walk around Dunwich and through the forest to reach the Friary. Sister Luke shared with us lots of information about medieval Dunwich people and what it would have been like to live in Dunwich before the erosion happened. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to use all of what we learnt and experienced in our learning over the next few weeks.
