As we count down to Christmas in Acorn class we have been taking it in turns to unwrap a Christmas story to share together at the end of each day. The children have all enjoyed getting cosy with our Christmas fire on the whiteboard and have listened fantastically to all the stories so far. We can't wait to see what story we will unwrap next!

Oak class have been using the text Jim & The Beanstalk in Whole Class Reading this half term. They have enjoyed reading only a few pages at a time so that they can really think about what is happening at different points of the story. Running alongside our class text, we also have weekly texts that encourage our use of Reading Vipers Skills. This text is also designed to develop reading fluency and by the end of the week children will be able to read this aloud with more confidence. All pupils in Oak class enjoy our reading lessons and talking about the texts that we read which is great in our school drive to get more children reading and enjoying books!

Recently Forest Friends (key stage 2) got creative. The children used nature to create their own woodland ecological structure (ground, field, understory, and canopy) In Forest free time the children created with clay, made a feeding platform for wildlife, a lady bird hotel, and other lovely creations.

Rowan class have been busy preparing for their Enterprise event. Here they are making delicious Chocolate Brownies, scrumptious Gingerbread, preparing the Reindeer food for that all important visit from Father Christmas along with making gift tags. Our final group will be making their hot chocolates on Friday. Do come along and support Rowan in their Enterprise event on Friday at 2:30.

Last week Nature Explorers got creative. They used pieces of nature to build a group woodland, thinking about all the parts that make up a tree. In forest free time the children created in the mud kitchen, made nature mobiles, and worked on various bug homes in bug land. #outdoors #outdoorlearning #school #schoollife #education

One of our recent newsletters from the classes showing how each year group expand their science knowledge and work collaboratively to expand their learning.

On Thursday Acorn class were joined by Seedlings class to enjoy a day celebrating colours. We read the story 'Elmer' together and the children then made their own wonderful elephants from milk bottles and tissue paper. They then used their gross motor skills to mix coloured powder paint and soapy water outside on the playground with mops. Our day ended with Donna from Drama tots taking us on a wonderful adventure to colour land. It was fantastic to see all the children listening so well and joining in dancing and singing together. #school #eyfs #colours #drama #learning #learningthroughplay
